Resources - Blessings
This page has some general concepts that you may find useful.
There are also some limited copyright issues, which are towards the bottom of that page here. Please do read them. They are not complex!
I also make some comments about the source of material - again please read, especially if you recognise your material! I mean no offense.
There is also an Alphabetical list of resources here
This page gives a selection of blessings that we have used, both on our Sunday meetings and in the groups and homes we go into. Plese feel free to adapt as you see fit.
God bless this home
We use this in some of the homes we go into
God bless this home
May its windows catch the sun
And its doors be open wide to friends and people we love, and people who love us
May each room in this home shut out troubles, problems and difficulties
May the walls of this home hold in warmth fun and cheer
May this home be filled with sweet dreams at night
May it be a home where love has come to live .... where Jesus Christ is Lord
Amen
Fill us with Your peace
The response is:
May Your Spirit fill us with peace
Lord Jesus when we are not agreeing with each other
May Your Spirit fill us with peace
When we are angry with each other
May Your Spirit fill us with peace
When we are together, carers and residents alike
May Your Spirit fill us with peace
When we are worried or anxious
May Your Spirit fill us with peace
Amen
May the Love of God be on us
This is a simple blessing that we can all join in with! The bits in italics are said all together.
May the Love of God be on us
The Love of God the Father that gives us life and health
May the Love of God be on us
The Love of Jesus the Son of God that hold us tight all the day long
May the Love of God be on us
The Love of the Holy Spirit who helps us to live the way that Jesus wants us to
May the Love of God be on us
The Love of the Father
The Love of Jesus
The Love of the Holy Spirit
Amen
This is very loosley adapted from a Caim prayer on page 306 of Celtic Daily Prayer, from the Northumbria Community, Published by Collins, 2000, ISBN 0 00 719907 4
